Workmates
Goal
Outline the design of a prototype from a future scenario (2030 remote working future with low technology). The final prototype does not have to be completely functional.
People problem
•In the remote working future, most activities become online and virtual, and real people are isolated from each other.
•Lack of daily schedule is terrible for health and time management.
•Plenty of distractions in the home can affect work efficiency.
•Working and resting place are mixed, making people unable to work or rest correctly.
How might we

Find real people to become their workmates.

Have a schedule that is reinforced by other workmate's participation

Give a chance to build a social connection between real people they have met in person, instead of people they merely had some conversation on the internet

Increase their options to finding a job

To find people and work together is somewhat similar to the process of finding a job. It could be a very stressful process for many reasons, and it may discourage people from joining the activities. Therefore, I decided to encourage people in two ways

Make the atmosphere of the app to become more casual and friendly with a playful community and relaxed visual designs

People feel much more frustrated with losing than gaining less. The level system helps indicate a user's creditability without the fear of bad reviews from a rating system. The system will not punish bad behaviours like absence but will reward those who do good. A reliable workmate would level up much faster than others. Besides, there are a lot more potentials that could be developed based on level systems, for example, decorating your profile with items that only available to high-level users.
